I snowshoed up to the Willow Heights trail on Saturday. That mile seemed a lot shorter and not as steep in the snow for some reason, though the trail was hard to follow. For one there were about 17 trails from previous
snowshoers/snowboarder/sledders and secondly you can't just follow the tree carvings since the snow was deep enough to cover them all up...which was actually really nice too. I practiced my track identification skills and saw lots of coyotes...and a man in the distance that appeared to be a trapper from the 1800's which was pretty cool.

The snow was covered in a really pretty layer of surface hoar frost that tinkled as you pushed through it.

I swear it's impossible to walk in a strait line in show shoes...
