Jake left me a bunch of stuff to store/borrow/enjoy for the next little while and it hasn't taken me long to get started on enjoying it. The thing I'm most excited about for now are the cross country skis. Monday after I was done at the climbing gym I picked up a pair of cross country ski boots and headed down to American Fork Canyon. It's been a year or two since I've been cross country skiing but all those years in highschool working out on the Nordic Track ingrained the motions into me so it was easy to get back into rhythm. The trail wasn't too long but it ran along the river the whole time and through the woods. It was quiet and crisp and I didn't see a single person the whole time I was out. I can't wait to get out again.
"There's plenty of money out there. They print more every day. But this ticket, there's only five of them in the whole world, and that's all there's ever going to be. Only a dummy would give this up for something as common as money. Are you a dummy?" -Grandpa George
"Be a half-assed crusader, a part-time fanatic. Don’t worry to much about the fate of the world. Saving the world is only a hobby. Get out there and enjoy the world, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, husbands, wives; climb mountains, run rivers, get drunk, do whatever you want to do while you can, before it’s too late." –Edward Abbey
Life is hard? True- but let's love it anyhow, though it breaks every bone in our bodies. -Edward Abbey

You're a pro at those self-portraits, Katie. Let's go skiing soon now that you've got skis. I didn't even use mine last year.
